How often are the results in Web Security updated?

Modified on: Mon, 30 Aug, 2021 at 5:14 PM

Siteimprove Web Security uses a range of different scanning techniques in order to identify potential weaknesses and vulnerabilities within your domain(s).  As these checks differ both in terms of frequency and techniques used, it’s good to familiarize yourself with how often they are updated.

By default, Web Security will update its results every 5 days with the latest insights and data found since the previous update.

This means that the module will attempt to fetch any updated findings or data points every 5 days and display them in the user interface.

However, each specific area that is analyzed and checked differs slightly in terms of how often the data on which analyses are based on is updated.  Below you’ll find an overview of how often the data for each area of the tool is updated and re-scanned;

Category Update cadence
Web Application Weekly
Network Daily / Continuously
Server Monthly

If you’d like more information on what these different categories mean and what they contain, you will find it in this overview article “What is Siteimprove Web Security?”
