In which document types does Siteimprove Data Privacy check for Personal Data?

Siteimprove’s Data Privacy solution checks the web pages and files on your website for personal data. Personal data can be found with both the Universal search and Personal Identification Numbers check features. 


The file formats included along with details on file formats that are not included are listed in the following table.

Included


Universal search identifies and highlights text-based personal data in the following file formats:



  • Word

  • PPT

  • XlS

  • PDF

  • JPEG

  • IMG

  • PNG

  • XML

  • ODS

  • OTT

  • SXW

  • ODM

  • ODT

  • ODP

  • OTS

  • OTP

  • TSV

  • TIF (content in meta data tags only)

  • Meta data

  • Embedded files



Included


The Personal Identification Numbers check identifies and highlights personal ID numbers in the following file formats:



  • Word

  • PDF

  • XlS

  • PPT

  • XML

  • ODS

  • OTT

  • SXW

  • ODM

  • ODT

  • ODP

  • OTS

  • OTP

  • TXT

  • CSV

  • TSV

  • Embedded files



Not Included


The following files formats will not be checked within Universal search:



  • Image-based PDFs

  • Files containing virus found on HTTP sites

  • ODP when password protected

  • Any file, when password protected


Note: Checks are only possible on files of up to 20MB.


 



Not Included


The following files formats will not be checked as part of the Personal Identification Numbers checks:



  • Image-based PDFs

  • Files containing virus found on HTTP sites

  • ODT metadata in custom properties

  • ODT metadata in the document description

  • ODP when password protected

  • Any file, when password protected


Note: Checks are only possible on files of up to 20MB. Checks are set to one country-specific format pr. site.
