How to Create a Learning Hub Only Role
Answer
Create a custom Learning Hub Only role based on the User role, allow only the required General and My profile view permissions, and assign the role without selecting any sites. This gives users access to the Learning Hub without allowing them to change or edit anything else within the Siteimprove Platform.
Overview
If there are users in your organization who should have access to the Learning Hub without being able to change or edit anything else within the Siteimprove Platform, we recommend assigning them to a custom Learning Hub Only role.
General information about user roles can be found on the User Roles and Permissions page, and a tutorial for creating custom roles can be found by clicking on the “Learn more on how to customize user roles [InApp tutorial]” link on that page.
Create the Learning Hub Only role
To set up your Learning Hub Only role:
- Ensure the Based on role is set to User.
- Set the options under the Role permissions > General > Views to View.
- Set the My profile option under Role permissions > Users > Views to View.
- Ensure that no other sites or permissions are set to Allow or View.
Assign the Learning Hub Only role
After the role is created, add applicable users to your Siteimprove Platform assigning them the Learning Hub Only role.
You can do this when you add a user after you click the "Next" button by selecting the users who should have this role, clicking the "Edit role" button, choosing the Learning Hub Only role option from the menu, and clicking "Save changes."
Be sure to select "Send Welcome Email" when adding them if you'd like them to receive an email to login and set their password.
Note: To prevent full access to the platform as well, make sure that no sites are checked for each user during the creation process.
Access the Learning Hub
Once this is done, those Learning Hub Only users can access to the Learning Hub using these instructions.
After logging into the Learning Hub once through the Siteimprove Platform, users will be able to log in directly to learninghub.siteimprove.com.
