Dec. 14th, 2023 - Dashboard & Report update: Period picker
We have introduced our period picker for Dashboards and Reports, making it easier than ever to quickly apply time and date changes to the data viewed on the dashboard.
The period picker is introduced for:
- Scheduled reports
- Reports exported from the Dashboard
- Dashboards (containing at least one analytics widget)
What is the new 'Period picker' about?
Before, if you wanted to change the period shown for each widget on the dashboard you could only achieve that by editing each widget individually. For dashboards with many widgets this was a tedious task.
With the period picker now being available for dashboards, you can change the period for all widgets in one central place.

The period picker is like you know it from Analytics, Ads, etc., which means you can choose between a preset period on one tab or select a custom date range on the other.
- Choose between preset dates or custom dates.
- In the preset menu, you can:
- Choose a relevant year.
- Choose a month.
- Choose the rolling period (looking back in time)

Why use the 'Period picker'?
The period picker makes it super easy to define a relevant time period to analyze when you would like to look at the data within the Siteimprove platform, whether it relates to:
- Scheduled reports.
- The widgets.
- The main dashboard.
Where is the 'Period picker' located?
When scheduling reports
- Go to your dashboard.
- In the dropdown menu called 'Reports' choose 'Schedule report'.
- Click the box where a time period is defined and the period picker will open up.
When adding widgets
- Go to your dashboard
- Choose a dashboard that is not a system dashboard.
- Click 'Add widget'.
- When you have chosen the widget you would like to add you can select a default time period. This is the period that the widget will show data for if no other period has been selected on the dashboard or in a report. Note that you can lock the widget to a time period. If you click that checkbox the widget will always show the default time period selected and not the period selected on either the dashboard or in a scheduled report. (“lock widget” to be released shortly after the release of period picker for dashboards)
- Choose the period via the picker.
When working with your main dashboard
- Go to your dashboard
- Choose a dashboard that contains analytics widgets
- Click the box where a time period is defined and the period picker will open up.
- Choose the period via the picker.
