Top Paths in Funnels

Measuring the performance of your online content can be challenging. Collecting and analyzing user behavior data to determine which content to optimize for better conversions takes time. That's why we're pleased to introduce Top Paths, a powerful feature that analyzes every path users take to reach your conversion pages, saving you time and effort.

With Top Paths, you won't get lost in overwhelming  of data, wondering if you're optimizing the right funnel for maximum conversions. This feature allows you to easily identify the most effective, high-potential, and hidden paths.

Our commitment goes beyond just providing insights. Top Paths also enables you to create a funnel directly from your findings, ensuring a seamless transition from analysis to action. Say goodbye to uncertainties and hello to actionable insights with Top Paths.

How to find and use the feature

To find the Top Paths feature follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Siteimprove platform.
  2. In the main menu to the left go to Marketing Analytics > Behaviour > Funnels.
  3. Click on a funnel and the “Top Paths” option will display.Top Paths in Funnel Analysis.
  4. Use the page filters at the top to select your funnel period and/or your segment filter.You can use the top filters to change the site, time period, and filter segments.
  5. You can use the “View top paths leading to conversion page” filter to select the conversion page to focus on.
  6. More than one conversion page may be visible in the filter if there are multiple url matches.Select the conversion page that you want to analyze.
  7. Path found” shows the total number of unique identified paths associated with the conversion page.
  8. Conversions from paths” indicates the number of conversions from paths on our website.
  9. Total conversions” shows the total number of conversions and includes direct traffic.See the “Path found” and both the “Conversions from paths” and “Total conversions” to easily get an overview of the results.
  10. You can easily identify the paths that are most effective, high potential, and hidden.
  11. Your “Most effective” path converts well, and this shows that many users use it to reach the conversion page.
  12. Your “High potential” path has a good amount of traffic, but some visitors drop off and certain improvements could make it more successful.
  13. Your “hidden” path has strong conversion potential, but not many visitors can find it.
  14. View Insights” will provide you with tips for how to address each of your different paths.Select “View insights” will give you tips on what you could be focusing on.
  15. Use the “Create Funnel” option to create a new funnel.
  16. Siteimprove will automatically create the funnel – all you need to do is give it a name.Click on “Create funnel” and you can easily create a new funnel.
