August 2025 release notes: Accessibility AI Assistant | Increased WCAG coverage | New visual identity | Enhancements to Content Blueprint AI
This page offers an introduction to the product updates and new capabilities we released to the Siteimprove platform in August. Designed to enhance your experience and help you achieve more with ease and efficiency. The August release includes:
- Introducing the first Siteimprove AI Assistant
- New accessibility rules for increased WCAG coverage
- A refreshed look for the Siteimprove platform
- New in Content Blueprint AI: Content Analysis and Content Planning
1. Introducing the first Siteimprove AI Assistant
This release introduces the first version of our Siteimprove Accessibility AI Assistant. This is an enhancement of the already available AI support located via the AI Remediate column in Accessibility > Issues.
For AI supported accessibility issues, you can now interact with the conversational AI bot inside the Page Report. From there, you can ask questions about accessibility issues and receive contextual explanations of suggested fixes.
This new AI functionality is only available for issues where AI Remediate is applicable.
How-to: Conversational AI Assistance inside Page Report
- Open an AI supported accessibility issue
- Choose an issue and generate a code suggestion
- Click the “AI Assistant” button to open a chat panel with the Accessibility AI Assistant.
- Ask follow-up questions while the assistant maintains context.
Contextual Explanations
- Get factual explanations of WCAG rules flagged in your Page Report.
- Understand why a suggested fix addresses the accessibility requirement.
What settings requirements should I be aware of?
- The site must have AI Remediate enabled in Settings > AI management.
- The user must already have AI Remediate permissions.
- The “AI Assistant” option will only appear on rules where AI Remediate is applicable.

2. New accessibility rules for increased WCAG coverage
We have introduced three new accessibility rules in the platform. The new rules expand our WCAG coverage, introduce AI-supported review of potential issues, reduce false positives, and enhance the accuracy of the Siteimprove accessibility testing.
New WCAG rules:
- SIA-R114: Page title is not descriptive
- SIA-R115: Heading is not descriptive
- SIA-R116: Summary element missing an accessible name
This enhancement is part of our broader initiative to expand our accessibility coverage and improve customer experience:
- Expanded coverage: New rules increase the percentage of automatically detected WCAG issues.
- Reduced manual effort: AI-supported review of potential issues help validate true issues more efficiently.
- Improved accuracy: Refinements to interactive element detection reduce false positives.
- Customer flexibility: A temporary opt-in model allow users to adopt new rules at their own pace.
3. A refreshed look for the Siteimprove platform
We’ve updated the Siteimprove logo, platform interface, CMS plugin, and browser extension to align with our Siteimprove.ai vision introduced earlier this month. See the August 12 press release: Siteimprove® Launches Agentic Content Intelligence Platform.
This visual refresh is part of our ongoing commitment to delivering a more intuitive and engaging experience across the platform.
What's new:
- A cleaner, more modern design
- Updated logo, fonts, colors, illustrations, and icons featuring our new plum branding
What's not changing:
- Navigation and workflows remain the same, so you can continue working without interruption
4. New in Content Blueprint AI: Content Analysis and Content Planning
The SEO Intelligence Suite marked our biggest release of Q2 2025. The suite integrates three flagship modules — SEO Enterprise, Content Blueprint AI, and Keyword Intelligence — to close critical gaps between organic and paid search strategies and predictively prioritize content creation and refresh opportunities.
This release introduces new capabilities in Content Blueprint AI: Content Analysis and Content Planning.
Content Analysis:
Helps marketers understand opportunities and decide what to pursue. Create three types of analysis:
- A cluster analysis: Discover key insights and patterns to optimize your content strategy.
- A keyword/intent analysis: Uncover the best keywords and understand the target audience intent to inform and optimize your content strategy.
- A content quality analysis: Evaluate the credibility, accuracy, and overall quality of your content. Options for scope (page, pages, site, topic, word lists) let you analyze anything from a single URL to an entire domain.
Content Planning:
After the analysis, a content planning document translates insights into a concrete plan.
- It tells you how many pieces of content to create or update
- It lists pages that need to be refreshed, and provides ideas for content with a title, target keyword, funnel stage, points to cover and related terms.
- It organizes ideas by cluster and persona and includes more suggestions than required, so teams can pick the options that best support their goals.
