What Is Target Size (WCAG 2.5.8)?

Summary

Clickable elements must be large enough or spaced adequately to reduce the risk of user error.

Overview

The purpose of this Success Criteria is to make it easy for mouse users, eye-tracking users, switch device users, and others to be able to hit any button or link they intended – and minimize the risk of hitting the wrong button due to buttons being too small and sitting too close together.

Requirements

The requirements for target size of any clickable element are:

Size is 24x24px
Size + spacing gives 24px to nearby clickable elements
