How to Link Multiple Google Business Profile Locations to Siteimprove

Summary

Siteimprove connects to one Google account, but that one Google account can link unlimited Google Business Profile (GMB) locations. This is not a licence limitation — it is simply how Google accounts work.

Prerequisites

Before you begin:

• A Google account connected to Siteimprove
• Access to the Google Business Profile locations you want to link
• Manager or Owner permissions for the applicable Google Business Profiles

Understand Connect vs. Link

• Connect = one Google login is connected to your Siteimprove account. This is done once.
• Link = multiple GMB locations that your connected Google account has access to can all be linked and visible in Siteimprove.

There is no button to connect a second Google login. All GMB locations must be accessible under the one connected Google account.

Grant Access in Google Business Profile

If a GMB location is not appearing in Siteimprove, the connected Google account needs to be added as a user on that location in Google Business Profile. To do this:

1. Go to the Google Business Profile page and sign in to the additional business profile.
2. Click People and access.
3. Click Add.
4. Enter the email address of your connected Google account.
5. Set the role to Manager or Owner.
6. Click Invite and accept the invitation.

Link the Location in Siteimprove

Once the Google-side access is granted, the additional GMB location will appear automatically in Siteimprove. To link it:

1. Go to Settings > SEO > Local SEO > Manage accounts.
2. Click the Unlinked accounts tab.
3. Find the new location and click Link.

Configure User Access (Optional)

If you need different users to only see data from their own GMB location:

1. Go to Local SEO settings.
2. Configure user access per GMB account.
3. Each user will then only see data relevant to their assigned location, similar to site-level access in Siteimprove.

Expected Outcome

After completing these steps:

• Additional Google Business Profile locations will be available in Siteimprove.
• Multiple GMB locations can be linked through a single connected Google account.
• Users can be restricted to viewing only their assigned locations, if configured.

FAQs

Is this a licence or contract limitation?

No. The single Google login is how the integration works by design, not a restriction based on your licence.

How many GMB locations can I link?

There is no limit. As long as your connected Google account has access to the locations on the Google side, they will all appear in Siteimprove.

The location is still not appearing after granting access. What do I do?

Make sure the invitation has been accepted on the Google side. If the issue persists, contact Siteimprove support.
