This article gives a high-level overview of all the updates released as part of our 2024 November release on November 6th. Some releases are for a limited audience (BETA) only and some releases in the November release are for general availability. If you are part of the BETA program related to any of the highlighted BETA features, you will be contacted directly by Siteimprove.

    • Siteimprove’s Bulk Keyword Import offers an efficient, scalable solution for managing large keyword datasets. Unlike manual or piecemeal processes that are error-prone and time-consuming, Siteimprove enables seamless bulk uploads and monitoring, helping enterprises quickly integrate, optimize, and adjust their SEO strategies based on real-time insights.

Inclusivity

  • New feature: Accessibility Code Checker (BETA)
    • We bring our accessibility checker to the tools that developers use daily. Called CI/CD tools (Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery/Deployment), they help DevOps automate the process of testing and delivering code changes, enabling developers to efficiently build, test, and deploy their software applications. It’s part of the shift-left movement, working catch issues and remediate issues before Web Ops have to fix the broken pieces and go back to developers, designers, and other team members are asked to revisit the issues. Save time and resources by caching accessibility issues before the code goes into production and hits your live content.

  • New feature: New Accessibility Site Target Score (General Availability) 
    • Accessibility Site Target Score allows you to define your accessibility goals and track your progress through an easy-to-understand, customizable scoring system that delivers a site-specific target score from 0% to 100%. This empowers you to easily report your achievements and compare progress across multiple sites, enhancing visibility and clarity for both your teams and leadership.

Integration updates

  • New feature: Content Assistance for Email Marketing Platforms (BETA) 
    • This content assistant solution ensures email marketers can seamlessly validate compliance, quality, and accessibility directly within their email creation platforms. It avoids mistakes and delivers high-quality, policy-compliant campaigns every time. This helps reduce risks and enhances ROI by ensuring every email meets legal and company standards before it’s sent.

  • New integration: Optimizely multi-channel Content Management Platform integration (General Availability) 
    • This integration gives you the ability to ensure content quality at every stage, with real-time feedback on SEO, accessibility, and compliance. Integrating Siteimprove’s advanced insights directly into Optimizely’s CMP boosts efficiency and ensures every piece of content meets the highest standards before it’s published.
      Key features are: 
      • Integration with Optimizely’s CMP

    • This update was released on June 27th, 2024.

General platform updates

  • Update: Crawler: Update of the Javascript crawling (General Availability) 
    • We are making sure that all customers get migrated to crawler-evaluated JavaScript.
    • This is being communicated individually to applicable clients.
  • Update: Third-party identity solution / Single Sign On (SSO) (General Availability) 
    • We are enhancing our security when logging into the Siteimprove platform by updating the login system with a new engine. 
    • Customers will be migrated in batches and communication will happen in collaboration with our Customer Success Executives team.
    • This is a batched roll-out and you will be informed when the engine has been updated for you.

How to find and use the new features/updates

Social Media Performance (Marketing Performance) (BETA)

Social Media Performance is found in the main navigation.

  1. Go to the Siteimprove platform
  2. In the main menu click 'Social Media Analytics'

Other sections, such as the Digital Certainty Index (DCI), Quality Assurance, Accessibility, and Analytics, are visible but not the main focus of the image.
  3. Choose either 'Facebook Ads' or 'LinkedIn Ads' and 'Social Media Settings'
  4. If you choose 'Facebook Ads,' for example, you can see the overall performance of the connected Facebook account:

  5. When you scroll down, you will see detailed information about campaigns relevant to the Facebook account that is being analyzed:

  6. In 'Social Media Settings' you can manage the connection between the Siteimprove platform and, for example, your LinkedIn account:

  7. When you connect a new account (either Facebook or LinkedIn) the system will pull information into the Siteimprove platform and then present the data under 'Facebook Ads' and/or 'LinkedIn Ads':

Competitor Analysis & Market Intelligence (Marketing Performance) (BETA)

This feature is found within your SEO Advance or SEO Enterprise menu structure. 

  1. In the main menu go to ‘SEO Advance/Enterprise’
  2. Go to ‘Research’
  3. Unfold ‘Competitor analysis’

  4. In the ‘Domain comparison’ menu you can add the domains you would like to analyze:Adding domains in the comparison menu
  5. Compare the data from the domains you have chosen to analyze.

Brand Consistency (Marketing Performance) (BETA)

The brand validation solution is a new feature found in the main menu. The feature is called ‘Brand’ and has its own logo. 

  1. Go to the main menu
  2. Click on ‘Brand’
    New "Brand" menu item in the Siteimprove platform
  3. In the overview within the ‘Brand’ menu, you can create new ‘Brand kits,’ run a brand check, and review your brand issues
  4. To create a new ‘Brand kit’, click ‘+ Create new’.
  5. You can create a text style, color, or brand voice kit:

  6. When a kit has been created you can run a brand check by clicking ‘Run brand check’

  7. When running a brand check you can choose either to run a check on a single page or the entire website:

  8. Any issues found when running the check will be presented in the ‘Brand issues’ tab:

  9. This is wher you can fix the issues as they occur on the sites you have checked

Marketing Leader Dashboards (Marketing Performance) (General Availability)

The Marketing Leader Dashboard is found in the main menu structure where several dashboards can be enabled in the dashboard overview.

  1. Go to ‘Dashboards’ in the main menu
  2. In the dashboard overview use the dropdown menu to choose the dashboard you would like to view:

  4. In the dashboard, there are several insights to analyze when creating a high-level overview of your digital performance:

Bulk Keyword Import (Marketing Performance) (General Availability)

Bulk Keyword Import is found in your ‘SEO Enterprise’ menu structure in the main navigation within the platform.

  1. Click on ‘SEO Enterprise’
  2. Go to ‘SEO settings’
  3. Select ‘Bulk keyword import’
    Bulk keyword import page in SEO settings with options for quick import (paste keywords) or file upload (up to 100,000 keywords). Includes input box and "Import keywords" button. Left sidebar shows navigation options.
  4. In the 'Import history tab' you can see the past imports.

Tabs at the top allow switching between quick import, import from file, and import history. Pagination controls are at the bottom, and the left sidebar includes navigation options.

Accessibility Code Checker (Inclusivity) (BETA)

The Accessibility Code Checker can be set up within your development environment to provide instant accessibility feedback as part of your workflow. Once integrated, it links to Page Reports in the platform, where you can view accessibility issues directly on your pages.

New Accessibility Site Target Score (Inclusivity) (General Availability)

Accessibility Site Target Score is found in the main navigation. You need to have a site target set up on your site(s) to make use of the accessibility site target score.

  1. Click ‘Accessibility’
  2. Click ‘Site target’
    Site Target Settings: Displays the accessibility settings for a site in the Siteimprove platform, showing WCAG version 2.2 and conformance levels (A, AA, AAA), along with ARIA conformance and best practices. The site's accessibility score is 70.3/100, based on 77 checks. The left sidebar provides navigation options for other accessibility sections.
  3. Here, you can see your current site target setup and make changes to it. The site target score will be displayed on the ‘Accessibility overview’ page
  4. You can also click the ‘Site target progress’ tab to see your current and historical progress towards reaching the site target
    Site Target Progress: Shows the progress toward achieving the site's accessibility target. The current score is 0.0%, with 29.72 points needed to reach the target. The page includes options to view the accessibility overview and track progress over time.

Content Assistance for Email Marketing Platforms (Integrations) (BETA)

Optimizely multi-channel Content Management Platform integration (Integrations) (General Availability)

The Optimizely CMP integration is found in the main navigation.

  1. Click ‘Settings’
  2. Click ‘Integrations’
    Available Integrations Page: Shows available integrations within the Siteimprove platform. The integration for "Optimizely" is displayed, allowing access to Siteimprove features directly within Optimizely. The left sidebar offers navigation options like managing users, content, AI management, and more. 
  3. Click ‘Integrations overview’
  4. Search for ‘Optimizely’
  5. Follow the on-screen steps to connect your Optimizely CMP with Siteimprove
  6. When the integration is set up it will look like this in Optimizely:

Prepublish Check (Optimizely): Displays prepublish checks for the same article, listing issues across accessibility, content, policy, and SEO. The left panel includes a breakdown of issues, with accessibility and SEO errors noted.
